Where Rain Became Style Again: Hunter and Maison Kitsuné Reimagined Weatherwear With Paris-Meets-Tokyo Charm

15 Dec 2025

The Hunter x Maison Kitsuné collection arrived this October with the kind of energy that only happens when two worlds collide in perfect rhythm. British heritage met Parisian nonchalance and Tokyo-cool attitude, transforming rainwear into something playful, graphic and unexpectedly chic. What had once been purely functional now felt expressive—an invitation to dress for weather with personality rather than compromise.

Maison Kitsuné approached Hunter’s classics with a sense of wit, reworking the brand’s iconic Downpour boots with chevron linings, crisp black and stone beige tones and an unmistakable fox dressed in a Hunter cap. It was a subtle but charming shift, turning a staple boot into an object of character. The collaboration’s signature graphic appeared as a knowing grin—the fox appearing at once mischievous and impeccably stylish.

The boots came in tall and short silhouettes, each unisex and crafted in colours that balanced practicality with polish. Short Downpour styles in chevron print added a bolder visual rhythm, while the kids’ versions embraced full-over fox motifs in tones of navy, white and laurel green. These pieces carried the spirit of Maison Kitsuné’s Paris-meets-Tokyo universe without losing Hunter’s British roots.

Outerwear expanded the story with a beige raincoat and laurel green rain cloak lined with custom chevron prints and finished with branded snap buttons. The movement of these pieces created a softness that contrasted beautifully with the graphic sharpness of the boots. T-shirts in silver sage introduced a casual language that grounded the collection, anchoring the collaboration in everyday wearability.

For children, hooded rain jackets and T-shirts featuring the fox head motif brought an innocence that made the collection feel multi-generational. A laurel green tote bag and a bright orange umbrella with a chevron interior completed the capsule—pieces designed not only to be worn, but also to be seen.

Hunter and Maison Kitsuné succeeded in creating something rare: weather-ready essentials that felt joyful, modern and imbued with character. The capsule became a reminder that rainwear could be expressive, and that even the most practical items could carry the signature of design, humour and cross-cultural creativity. Available now in both Maisons’ global stores and hunterboots.com.au, the collaboration offered a fresh perspective on dressing for all conditions.
